How to Make Progress and Reduce Stress with the Power of ONE

The ONE most important work technique you were never taught, but need to know.
In too many companies, employees never learn how to work most efficiently or effectively.

Have you ever had one of those days?

A day when you’ve just had ENOUGH?

You know, that moment when you’ve reached a critical point where the stress and frustration just can’t get any worse, but at the same time, you have a sinking feeling they just might?

Maybe for you, these feelings have surfaced more readily in recent times—and more often than you’d like to admit. And today was one of those days.

You had a series of 1:1 meetings first thing this morning plus a long committee meeting that just wouldn’t end, and now you’re sitting at your computer for a late lunch with a take-out sandwich, frustrated that you can’t get outside on such a beautiful day.

Instead, you’re facing a pile-up of new emails that have pushed a list of earlier emails down and off the screen. You’ve read most of them, flagged a handful, and at some point, you’ll need to revisit them to take action and close the loop.

The blinking light on your office phone tells you that you have a few new voicemails waiting. The notifications on your cell phone are vying for your attention, too.

You feel the heavy weight of being behind lately, but today you’re feeling even MORE acutely aware of the important tasks that were not started yesterday—but should have been—as well as the tasks that were started, but not finished. And now ALL of them are seriously tugging on your mind.

As if these concerns weren’t enough already, you’re REALLY worried at this point, because earlier in the day, you had written a few new, VERY important tasks on your legal pad. And now you can’t find it.

Now in search of your legal pad, you begin a quick review of the papers and files on your desk. In the process, you’re reminded of work that needs to be done sooner than later, but you know the to-dos on that legal pad should really come first. And while that wasn’t the ONLY legal pad you had in motion, it’s the latest one and now it’s the most critical one to find.

You keep looking, but you come up short. With a pang of defeat and the knowledge that you’re short on time, you decide to work on the only task you can remember from that missing legal pad and you resolve to look for the pad again later.

Unfortunately, this kind of workday is all too common, but it’s not the kind of workday you want if you’re trying to stay on top of your work—or better yet, get ahead and EXCEL, and make substantial progress.

So, here’s the deal…

When professionals join the working world, most are never taught how to work most efficiently, effectively, or productively, whether it’s managing tasks, time, email, or information.

This gap this creates causes the worst problem—and the most damaging to your productivity—which is wasting too much time managing tasks the HARD way.

And this one is a double-edged sword.

The first cut causes time to be lost in the task management process itself. You’re writing and rewriting to-do lists on legal pads (or elsewhere on paper.) Then you’re trying to keep track of tasks from more than 10 different sources of tasks in your workday without a centralized system. This is very inefficient.

On top of this, you’re also wasting time re-reading or reviewing things you’ve already seen, but couldn’t do anything with, like papers, files, emails, attachments, and to-do lists.

And many of these items contain tasks. But… what should you DO with all of them?!

The second cut comes from trying to plan and prioritize tasks in your head, which is also very inefficient. This not only invites opportunities for tasks to be missed, lost, or forgotten, but this cuts DEEP into your productivity, progress, and results as well.

Unfortunately, when you feel perpetually behind—but are desperately trying to keep up—you end up operating more REACTIVELY to what’s right in front of you at the moment instead of working on the next priority.

And every minute that goes by, you lose a little more ground… and a little more… and a little more. Until the avalanche hits and something extremely important gets buried.

The cost of being perpetually behind is high and the consequences are deep.

To help you bridge the gap and stop working the hard way, I want to give you ONE most effective work techniques you were never taught and why it matters. This is the game-changing concept our clients use every day and when you bridge this gap, you can start increasing your productivity, progress, and RESULTS. Plus, you’ll start working the EASY way and you’ll begin to decrease your stress.

The game-changing concept here is centralization.

It’s bringing ALL of your tasks under one roof. No more scribbled notes on legal pads, no more juggling tasks from multiple sources. By centralizing tasks, you gain clarity, confidence and control.

Here’s how centralization can help you solve a stressful workday and get a grip on ALL of your tasks…

  1. CLARITY

Imagine having a clear roadmap for your day. Centralization offers just that. One road to take. When tasks are centralized into ONE system, planning becomes effortless. You can prioritize accurately, make swift decisions, and act with purpose. Clarity is empowering. It leads to streamlined workflows and efficient time management.

  1. CONTROL

Centralization creates a dashboard that equates to having your own, personal “Mission Control.” It’s the hub where every task—no matter its origin or its deadline—comes together. With all tasks in one place, you can breathe easy knowing nothing will slip through the cracks.

  1. CONFIDENCE

With clarity and control comes confidence. No more second-guessing which task to tackle next. No more worries of what you might have missed or wondering if you’re using your time wisely. You know exactly what to do, when to do it, and why it matters. Confidence enables you to make smart decisions about how to spend your time and energy. It fuels productivity and creates progress.

And the benefits of CENTRALIZATION don’t stop here. It gives you FREEDOM, too.

**FREEDOM from Worries
With a 360-degree view of all your responsibilities, you’ll have no more ongoing worries about what you might have missed or anxieties about forgotten tasks.

** FREEDOM from Hesitation
When you break tasks into manageable bites, you can move seamlessly from one step to the next. Say goodbye to wasted minutes wondering where to start or how to continue. Your workflow becomes fluid and uninterrupted.

** FREEDOM from Reactivity
No more reacting to tasks as they pop up. With clarity, you become proactive. You know exactly where to put your focus. And when you’re in control, your enthusiasm skyrockets for achievement and progress.

In a world where the demands on our time and attention seem never-ending, mastering the power of ONE— CENTRALIZATION—is your ticket to greater productivity, progress, and peace of mind.  It allows you to move seamlessly from Mission Control to Mission Accomplished every day.

Embrace it and watch the transformative impact it has on your work and in your life.
